Not many major artist can be both rapper and producer and play that position well. Royce Da 5’9 is one of the rare few to balance both impeccably. He first got on the music scene in the late ‘90s making a name for himself in Detroit’s competitive Hip Hop scene, battling local rappers at open mics. Fast-forward 20 years later and Royce has made a name for himself outside of the motor city. His collaboration with Eminem led to his next big move as a solo artist, recording primarily with DJ Premier, Nottz and Carlos "6 July" Broady. Not just a rapper or producer Royce is also a major songwriter assisting with major artists like P. Diddy and Dr. Dre. As one half of the rap duo Bad Meets Evil with Eminem and also a member of Hip Hop group Slaughterhouse, Royce Da 5’9 is both talent and skill and a necessity in the Hip Hop game.
