An Audio / Sound Engineer is someone who manipulates the Equalization and Electrical Effects of Sound by Mixing, Reproducing, and Adjusting the overall Audio. 

It is the Engineers overall responsibility to Capture a Sound, or Group of Sounds as Sonically Accurate as possible which requires many Technical & Creative Skills in its Application.

The MTS Music Production Curriculum is focused on Music & Audio Engineering. Our Students are trained in-person with real life practical application with the industry standard ProTools.

Music Production 101 - Audio Engineering + ProTools

Audio Engineering + ProTools

Learn basic principles of Audio Recording and Music Production through in-person classroom lecture, individual & group studio projects, software & hardware hands on training. Students learn about the principles of sound, signal flow, microphones, mic placement techniques, dynamics, plug-ins, and the overall entire recording process

We teach the Music Industry Standard PRO TOOLS - Get clear on the direction you want to go with your Audio Recording.

  • Setting up your 1st Pro Tools Recording Session

  • Audio Technology History

  • Sound Dynamics

  • What is signal flow?

  • Learning the basics of Pro Tools

  • Edit Modes, Edit Tools, PT Windows

  • Basic Editing Techniques

  • Mixing in Pro Tools made easy

  • Setting up a MIX Session

  • Use of Pans, Faders, and Plugins

  • Proper Recording Levels through the use of Gain Staging

WHAT YOU CREATE

  • Creating Pro Tools Sessions

  • Organized Tracks by Different Instrument Groups

  • Routing Tracks Properly

  • Panning, Volume, Special FX, Automation

  • Blending Instruments

  • Practice Mixing in both Mono & Stereo

  • Recreating Sounds

Students MUST exhibit a working knowledge of Audio Concepts, Software / Hardware Comprehension, and gear handling as a requirement for completion. 

Students meet once a week on the same day and time each week. Class sizes are small and contribute to a collaborative setting allowing peer to peer connection.

 

All students completing the program will graduate with certification and a plaque at graduation.

OPEN Lab

We Provide FREE Open Lab for all Audio Engineer Students. This Non-Instructional Class allows Students More Time to Work on Studio Projects & Private time to Practice weekly lessons. 

Audio Engineering DETAILS

AUDIO ENGINEERING 101 includes 30+ hours* of curriculum and lab hours. Our job is to teach you how to become a technically efficient, Audio / Sound Recording Engineer by the end of your course. 

 

We do this by creating mile-markers that provide Progress Reports, Tests, Live Gigs, and heavy mentorship from instructors, special Guests, and collaboration with your classmates. Our job is to make sure you have grasped and mastered all concepts.

All Student Graduates receive a plaque of certification.

Class Meets 1X WEEK + 60 Minutes + 16 Weeks = 4 Months

PAYMENT Information: 
$75 Registration Fee required to Book Your Class (Non-Refundable)

  • 16 Week Course = 4 Month Semester

Payment Options - Payment is due on the 1st or the 15th of each month + Credit or Debit Card Required

  • $300 Per Month
